Marine Industry Immersion Summer CampInspiring Youth Through Marine Industry STEM Experiences
The Marine Industry Immersion Summer Camp introduces high school students to the wide variety of opportunities available in the marine industry using STEM experiences through hands-on projects, field trips to marine businesses, boatyards and training schools and with the help of industry professionals as guest speakers.
The two-week program is run in partnership with Broward County Schools, Children’s Services Council, Hispanic Unity of Florida and YMCA. STEM Projects to date have included the building of underwater ROV (remotely operated vehicles) using kits developed by SeaPerch; and boat propeller design and race challenges using kits developed by Frank & Jimmie’s Propeller Shop for the National Marine Propeller Association.
