Fort Lauderdale, FL (April 25, 2018) –The 9th Annual MICF Spin-a-thon presented by CycleBar Fort Lauderdale is set for Friday April 27, 2018 on Fort Lauderdale Beach with more than 40 bikes and over 150 enthusiastic riders expected for the 4-hour Spin-Bike fundraising event. According to Sabrina Farmer, Chair of the Marine Industry Cares Foundation, the energy and excitement ahead of the event is building with each day. “As we see more last minute registrations and donations come in, I’m reminded of how great it is to be part of this event and organization! I am grateful for the support for MICF and our programs to help children and families through our marine industry-themed STEM initiatives, and for the strong support for our charity partners who in their own right, are making significant contributions to the community ,” said Farmer.

Partnering charities invited to fundraise for their organizations through the Spin-a-thon include Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center, LifeNet4Families, FLIPANY and American Lung Association-Lung Force. Gordon Connell, Executive Director of MICF said, “We are happy to have these wonderful community agencies involved in Spin-a-thon and in some cases use the chance to introduce them to the our marine industry supporters. Our goal is to share information about their good work and help them raise money for their organization as well.” Participating charities retain between 75 percent and 90 percent of their fundraising based on the amount of money raised.
